For INTER IIT

A new sports event in the odd semester, inspired by DU’s one-day tournaments, will provide players with more exposure and a mid-year performance evaluation opportunity.

Sport-specific resource allocation will be prioritized, ensuring that each team receives tailored support, such as chess software for the chess team instead of generic equipment.

Captains and vice-captains will maintain practice attendance records to track player commitment and minimize last-minute dropouts before Inter-IIT.

A structured needs assessment will be conducted with captains and coaches to understand and fulfill specific equipment and training requirements for each sport.

Infrastructural / Logistical Changes to be prioritised

Dedicated ground staff will ensure weekly maintenance, and a centralized schedule will be shared with teams to prevent clashes and optimize facility usage.

A publicly accessible inventory system at Mittal Sports Complex will allow players to check equipment availability and issue items easily.

An anonymous feedback system for captains, vice-captains, and coaches will help address team concerns while ensuring confidentiality.

Many teams prefer boiled eggs and other protein-rich food options instead of juice, so night mess coupons will be provided as an alternative to juice shop coupons.

Post-practice dinner will be ensured across all hostels, especially for late-practicing athletes, through coordination with mess committees.

Initiatives for BSA

GC for all sports will be conducted to scout talent for institute teams, motivate hostel participation, and prevent cancellations due to administrative issues.

Take full responsibility for administrative coordination, ensuring team captains focus on training, while actively advocating for athletes’ needs rather than just relaying admin directives.

IIT Delhi Sports will be rebranded with a mascot and enhanced media presence, attracting sponsors and increasing visibility through high-quality event coverage and player features.

Timely procurement of sports equipment will be ensured, preventing premature wear and tear by aligning delivery with competition schedules.

A timely structured fixture system will be implemented in GC to prevent overlaps and individual personal plans of our athletes.

Formal alumni interactions and contingent reunions will be organized by BSA to strengthen connections between past and present athletes.

Sports secretaries will be included in BSA to ensure better coordination between hostels and institute-level sports initiatives.

The BSA website will be revamped with a repository of past Inter-IIT and Inter-Hostel results, a yearbook to honor graduating seniors, and an online ground/court booking system.
