Karakoram House turned 50 this year, the house celebrated its golden jubilee by organizing a special festival, Aurum. The festival was organised by the proud residents of Karakoram hostel. The Director, the Dean of Student Affairs and Dean of Academics also graced the occasion.
From hosting an alumni meet to hosting games for the residents, the organizers put in a great number of hours to make Aurum a successful event.
One of the highlights of the fest – an evening with alumni was organized on the third day of the fest. Around 30 Alumni from batches since 1973 participated in a nostalgic evening. Not only were fun anecdotes and warm hostel memories recounted but also priceless and invaluable experiences and teachings imparted to the current residents in an interactive session. Every student who witnessed those amazing scenes of jubilation was left overwhelmed in what their future holds in store.
On day four of Aurum, a special ceremony of ‘Slab-Stone Unveiling’ was attended by Prof. Anurag Sharma, Dean of Academics and Prof. S.K. Gupta, Dean of Students Affairs. After the Director cut the ribbon and unveiled the new slab-stone, the 3 Chief Guests proceeded to the lawns, where an aura was created by a fusion musical performance, post which a dinner was hosted for all dignitaries.
Aurum definitely lived up to its expectations and has made every Karaite even more proud of their hostel.
