অসমাপ্ত
কিছু কাহিনী অসমাপ্তই ভালো।
সীমান্তে দাঁড়িয়ে আজ নয় সশব্দে
'শেষ' না-ই ঘোষণা করলে। জানি,
তারাটি খসে গেছে আকাশ থেকে,
যে তারাটি একসাথে দেখেছিলাম
কোনো নাম-না-জানা রাতে।
গুড়ো সত্যিগুলো মেঝেতে ছড়িয়ে;
তার ওপর হেঁটে
মিছিমিছি পা কেটে
রক্ত ঝরানোর দরকার নেই।
ব্যথায় ব্যথা বাড়বে অকারণ।
'ইতি’ লিখতে হবে না, থাক।
'দাড়ি' টানার শক্তি নেই আমারও।

Unfinished
Some stories are better left unfinished.
Standing at the border, there’s no need
To make a loud announcement that “It’s over”.
I know that the star has fallen from the sky,
The star that we watched together on a nameless night.
The crushed truths are spread all over the floor;
It’s futile to tread on the broken pieces
Only to wound our feet, and bleed some more,
For the pains will only reinforce each other needlessly.
Neither do you have to pen it as “The End”,
Nor do I have the strength to put a period.
Some poems are better left unfinished.
