ঠিক বেঠিকের হিসাব
আর চারপাশ, ওপর নিচ, ফাঁপা।
ধোঁয়াও থাকতে চায় না ধারেকাছে।
বন্ধ জানলা দিয়ে
অন্ধকারের যাতায়াত।
বাল্ব গিয়ে এখন এল.ই.ডি'র যুগ,
বেশ তো, উষ্ণতার বদলে তীব্রতা,
কিছু আয়নায় তোমার প্রতিফলন
আকাশছোঁয়া। কখনও ভালোবেসেছিলে?
টেক্কাটা আস্তিন লুকোয়
ভোকাট্টা পুরোনো সুতো।
শ্মশানবন্ধু ভাড়ায় মেলে আজকাল।
স্মার্টফোন বলে দেবে সব, শুধু,
কথা বলবে না। করতালি চাইলে
করতালিই পাবে, শরীর চাইলে সেটাও।
নাকউঁচু বহুতলের
মিথ্যে কিছু ভিত্।
কড়কড়ে পাচঁ'শোর নোটে ছোট্ট জগৎ কিনে
বাড়ি ফিরবে রাতে। এক'শো তেত্রিশ কোটির
সাথে ঘুমিয়ে পড়বে টুপ করে।
অগণিত তারাদের মাঝে হীরে তুচ্ছ।

Arrogant sky-scrapers are built on false
foundations.
Having bought a tiny world for a fresh five-
hundred rupees note,
You return home at night.
Then you fall asleep along with the one
hundred and thirty-three crores.
Diamond is insignificant amidst the
countless stars.
